About

Rino Wauchi was born on February 21, 2003, and is from Kanagawa Prefecture. She is an actress with Rhythmedia Talent.

She joined a modeling agency at 10, and appearing in a commercial led her to start attending acting workshops — the beginning of her career as an actress. It wasn't always smooth, though. Around age 13–14 she struggled with relationships and went through a period when she was afraid of meeting people. What helped her out of it was jumping into a high school where no one knew her, and books. She says she found small daily goals in books and moved forward little by little.

After drawing attention on ABEMA's "Niji to Ookami ni wa Damasarenai," she appeared in the NHK morning drama "Chimudondon" and "Extremely Inappropriate!" (不適切にもほどがある!). In 2024 she also took on gravure, sparked by Netflix's "Love Battle Royale," and in 2026 she landed her first-ever cover on Weekly Young Jump. She says, "Gravure gave me courage — it's one of the jobs that changed my life," and knowing she was once so fearful, those words carry extra weight.

At heart she's a true book lover, and the place she feels most at ease is a secondhand bookstore. Her hobbies also include visiting art museums, oil painting, and writing poetry — a bit of a literary girl. After her grandfather passed away, she began thinking, "I should say what I feel as much as possible," and she wants to bring that personality, which people call "so human," into her work. Her acting, informed by knowing her own weaknesses, makes us excited for what's next.
