About
Rena Kato was born on April 5, 2006, and is from Aichi Prefecture. She balances being a nursing student with gravure. She was actually previously active under the name "Rena Ando" as a first-generation member of "LINKL PLANET" (Rinpura), BANDAI SPIRITS' plastic model PR idol group.
Her gravure debut was in Weekly Young Magazine in January 2026. She posted on X, "I tried gravure for the first time in my life!! I was so nervous," and the editors were so impressed they declared that "2026 will be Rena Kato's year." True to their word, her first Weekly Playboy appearance in February drew a huge response, her followers jumped, and her digital photobook hit No. 1 in the rankings. Just about six months after her debut, she was chosen for the cover and opening gravure of Weekly Playboy.
She says she was very nervous about having her body seen at first, but being recognized gave her confidence, and now she rarely gets nervous at shoots. She also has a surprisingly studious side, looking at other gravure models' photos and wondering, "How does she do that?" She laughs that she's "not stoic and goes easy on myself," but she has started eating vegetables and fish for her skin, so her mindset has clearly changed since she began working.
Off camera she loves cute things and is a huge fan of Karen Matsumoto of FRUITS ZIPPER — she even carries their two-shot instant photo in her planner. People often tell her she has "a unique way with words," and apparently her whole family is like that. Her goal is for people to say "gravure means Rena Kato." A rising star whose steady side as a nursing student and the quirky charm of her word choices make you want to cheer for her.
