About
Chiyo Amano was born on September 2, 1994, and is from Fukuoka Prefecture. A gravure idol with One Eight Promotion, she made a rather unusual start by debuting in gravure at age 30.
Because of her father's work, she spent ages 3 to 6 in Seattle in the United States. After that she lived in Osaka and Kanagawa, and in her Osaka days she had a USJ annual pass and would ride her bike there to play. She says growing up in America's free environment shaped her values today.
She started in entertainment in 2019, working as a model, a SuperGT race queen, and a ring girl. When she told her agency she wanted to do gravure, they wouldn't allow it, saying "once you're more famous." Then the pandemic wiped out her work, so she decided to earn a title on her own and entered Best Body Japan for the first time — and won runner-up right away. Going to the gym four times a week and walking two hours every day, her drive from that point is remarkable.
Then in November 2024, thinking "if I'm going to do it, it's now or never," she made her gravure debut at the milestone age of 30. She studied Risa Yukihira, who was a race queen at the same time, landed covers on FLASH, Young Animal, and Spirits, and in July 2026 released her first photobook "Hitoshizuku" (ひとしずく). Without using age as an excuse, she took the long way around and seized her chance herself — a true late bloomer with real talent. Her playful special skill, "touching bugs," is another fun point.
